The Supreme Court has deferred the hearing on petitions related to the NEET re-examination to July, while refusing to stay the examination scheduled for June 21. The matter was transferred to a Bench headed by Justice P. S. Narasimha for further consideration. As a result, the examination process will continue as planned unless a fresh order is issued by the court.
During the proceedings, the petitioner's counsel argued that lakhs of students should not be made to suffer for the alleged mistakes of a few individuals. The petition raised concerns regarding fairness and the impact of a re-examination on students who had already completed the process. However, the Supreme Court declined to grant interim relief and decided to examine the matter in detail at a later stage. The next hearing is expected to take place in July.
