Doctors at Osmania General Hospital successfully performed a liver transplant on an 18-month-old child suffering from Glycogen Storage Disease. The child, weighing around 10 kilograms, underwent a complex procedure in which a portion of the father’s liver was transplanted. The surgery marks a significant medical achievement for the hospital’s surgical team.
The treatment was provided free of cost under the Aarogyasri scheme. Following the surgery, doctors confirmed that the child’s condition is stable and recovering well. Minister Rajanarasimha congratulated the medical team for their expertise and dedication in successfully carrying out the life-saving procedure.
