APCC Chief YS Sharmila Reddy has strongly criticized the state of education in Andhra Pradesh, stating that 16,357 schools in the state are functioning with just a single teacher. She termed this as the true report card of the NDA governments at both the Centre and the State, accusing them of focusing on rhetoric rather than addressing basic educational needs.
Questioning Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s claims of a special relationship with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sharmila asked why Andhra Pradesh has not received adequate support to ensure sufficient teachers in government schools. She stated that a government unable to provide a teacher in every school has no moral right to speak about building the future, emphasizing that children need teachers, not headlines.
