

A shooting at the popular Bite of Seattle food festival near the iconic Space Needle left two people dead and five others injured, including a 2-year-old boy, on Sunday evening. The gunfire erupted at around 6 p.m. at Seattle Center, prompting panic and a large-scale evacuation as visitors and vendors rushed to safety. The injured were taken to Harborview Medical Center, while police urged the public to avoid the area as officers investigated the scene.
Authorities had not immediately disclosed whether a suspect was in custody, and the circumstances surrounding the shooting remained under investigation. Witnesses described hearing multiple gunshots as the festival was crowded with visitors during its closing hours. Bite of Seattle is a major annual food and community festival held at Seattle Center, featuring food vendors and live entertainment.
