YSRCP chief and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy strongly criticized the law and order situation in Andhra Pradesh, alleging that governance has turned into a “rule of fear.” Addressing a press meet in Amaravati, he accused the government of misusing law enforcement as a political weapon and claimed that custodial deaths, harassment cases, and rising violence reflect a deteriorating state of governance. He stated that the state, once known for welfare and development, has now been associated with allegations of misconduct and fear-driven administration.
He cited several incidents including cases from Vijayawada, Kurnool, Tenali, and Srikakulam, alleging custodial violence and misuse of police power. He also raised questions over investigations and claimed attempts to divert attention from key issues. Meanwhile, he announced that he will visit Vijayawada in the evening to meet the family of a Dalit youth, who reportedly died by suicide after alleged police harassment, expressing solidarity with the bereaved family.
