Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn and Tiger Shroff have landed in trouble over their appearance in a Vimal Elaichi advertisement. Maharashtra’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued show-cause notices to the three actors, alleging that the advertisement could amount to surrogate promotion of Vimal Pan Masala, a product prohibited in the state.
The FDA has reportedly asked the actors to explain their respective roles in the advertisement and why action should not be initiated against them. The notices also direct them to remove the related promotional content from social media within 15 days. The action comes amid a wider crackdown by Maharashtra authorities against the promotion and sale of prohibited tobacco and pan masala products.
