Heavy Rush at Srisailam Temple

The Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple in Srisailam witnessed a massive influx of devotees as the weekend holidays coincided with the auspicious Shravan month. In view of the heavy rush, temple authorities took advance measures to facilitate smoother darshan for pilgrims. Temple Chairman Pothugunta Ramesh Naidu and Executive Officer M. Srinivasa Rao announced the suspension of morning Sparsha Darshan from Friday through Monday. However, devotees arriving with protocol recommendation letters are being provided Sparsha Darshan at around 8:30 pm, subject to availability.

The temple administration has also temporarily suspended Arjitha Abhishekam and Kumkumarchana during these four days. At present, devotees are being permitted only for Alankara Darshan of Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy and Goddess Bhramaramba Devi. With all the queue compartments filled, the waiting lines have extended beyond the Devasthanam Hospital towards Mallikarjuna Sadan. Devotees are reportedly waiting for around five to six hours for darshan. To minimise inconvenience during the wait, the temple authorities said they are providing refreshments, drinking water, milk and biscuits to pilgrims in the queue compartments.
