Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha has secured an appointment with President Droupadi Murmu on May 5 to raise concerns over alleged political vendetta by the Punjab government. Chadha has accused the state machinery of targeting MPs who recently left the Aam Aadmi Party, and said he would formally bring the matter to the President’s attention.
The issue gained traction after Punjab Police registered FIRs against MP Sandeep Pathak soon after he switched parties. Reports suggested possible arrest due to non-bailable charges, while heavy police deployment was seen near his residence. Chadha alleged that false cases are being filed against MPs who joined the BJP and stated that he sought the President’s intervention to address the matter.
