QR Code System for AP Handicrafts

The Andhra Pradesh Handicrafts Development Corporation has introduced a first of its kind QR code system for handicrafts following the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. The initiative aims to promote AP's traditional handicrafts globally while ensuring that artisans receive proper recognition for their work. Buyers can scan the QR code on each product to instantly access complete information about the artwork.

The QR code provides details such as the product's history, cultural significance, artisan's name, craftsmanship, raw materials used, production time, dimensions, and whether it has a Geographical Indication (GI) tag or a One District One Product (ODOP) identity. In the first phase, the system has been introduced for eight iconic handicrafts, including the Bobbili Veena, Kalamkari paintings, and Savara tribal paintings, with plans to expand it across all AP handicrafts.
