Public Faces Hardships Due to RTC Strike Across Telangana

A widespread RTC strike across Telangana has caused major inconvenience to the public, with bus services coming to a halt in several districts. In Godavarikhani, around 150 buses and nearly 600 employees remained confined to depots as workers launched a protest under the RTC JAC. Heavy police security was deployed at bus stands and depots. Meanwhile, passengers at Charlapalli Railway Station faced severe difficulties due to the lack of transport, and auto drivers reportedly increased fares, adding to the burden. Many commuters were forced to rely on private services like Rapido, Ola, and Uber.

Tensions were reported in multiple locations including Medak, Sangareddy, and Kamareddy, where clashes broke out between RTC workers and police. Authorities attempted to operate hired buses under police escort, but workers resisted. In Karimnagar, a bus driven by a private driver met with an accident, injuring passengers. Students struggled to reach exam centers due to lack of buses, while private vehicle operators charged excessive fares. The ongoing strike has intensified public frustration, with protests also reported from Mancherial, where contract drivers demanded safety assurances before resuming services.
