

Police Recruitment Board Chairman V.V. Srinivasa Rao has announced the dates for the written examinations for police recruitment. The examinations for SI and equivalent posts will be held on November 29, while the written test for constable-level posts will be conducted on December 20. Four notifications were issued on July 29 this year for the recruitment of 7,437 posts in the Police, Special Protection Force, Fire Services and Prisons departments. The vacancies include 298 SI and ASI-level posts and 7,139 constable level posts, of which 5,000 are in the Police Department. Online applications were accepted from the 19th of last month to the 16th of this month.
A total of 4.29 lakh candidates submitted 5,77,064 applications. Of these, 68.45% applied for one post, while 28.88% applied for two posts. BC candidates accounted for 49.19% of the applications, followed by SC and ST candidates at 43.60%, OC candidates at 7.20%, and candidates from other states at 3.45%. Women submitted 1,46,220 applications (25.33%), while men submitted 4,30,844 (74.66%). Srinivasa Rao said 2.6% of applicants are yet to complete Aadhaar face authentication and have been given time until the 30th of this month. The SI examination will be conducted at ten former district headquarters in Telangana, while the constable examination may be held at the same ten centres along with an additional 15 to 18 centres.
