Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged states to resolve inter-state water disputes through mutual cooperation. He stressed timely approvals for infrastructure projects and the use of technology for monitoring progress. He highlighted the Ken-Betwa river interlinking project as a model for such initiatives. Chairing the 51st PRAGATI meeting in New Delhi, he reviewed projects worth around ₹30,000 crore across railways, power, and road sectors in nine states.
He emphasized that delays in project completion lead to cost escalation and deny public access to essential infrastructure. Modi also reviewed initiatives such as ports development and Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0, urging faster implementation and citizen participation. He called for promoting rooftop solar systems in urban areas, improving energy security, and reducing electricity costs. He also extended Bakrid greetings and paid tribute to V. D. Savarkar on his birth anniversary, while congratulating Slovenia’s newly elected Prime Minister Janez Jansa.
