

The 150th birth anniversary of Pingali Venkayya, the designer of the Indian national flag, was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Allagadda town on Sunday. The event was organized under the leadership of the Andhra Pradesh Private Unaided School Management Association. Students of Vishwashanthi School participated in a rally carrying national flags, highlighting patriotic spirit and paying tribute to the great freedom fighter.
Later, floral tributes were offered to Pingali Venkayya’s portrait at the Four Roads junction. APUSMA Allagadda constituency president Ameer Basha said that Venkayya’s contributions as a soldier, teacher, and freedom fighter are unforgettable. He described him as an inspiration to the youth and urged that he be honored with the Bharat Ratna. The event was attended by Vishwashanthi School correspondent Srinath Reddy and teachers Imran and Vijay.
