

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday urged young IAS officers to place citizens at the center of every administrative decision, emphasizing that governance should be driven by empathy, inclusiveness, and timely action. Addressing 183 IAS officers of the 2024 batch appointed as Assistant Secretaries in various ministries, Modi said every file they handle represents the aspirations, concerns, and lives of countless citizens. He stressed that every policy and administrative decision taken in the coming decades should contribute to the vision of a developed India by 2047.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the importance of data-driven governance, urging officers to view data not merely as numbers but as reflections of people's challenges and aspirations. He called for continuous monitoring of policy implementation at the grassroots level. Separately, Modi emphasized stronger cooperation among BRICS nations in tackling terrorism and cybercrime while promoting global security and development. National Security Adviser Ajit Doval described the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz as a positive development for global energy security, while Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi underlined the importance of mutual respect between India and China in safeguarding core interests.
