HYDRAA Commissioner Visits BITS Pilani Goa Campus

HYDRAA Commissioner Shri AV Ranganath visited the BITS Pilani Goa campus to study innovative technologies aimed at ensuring the supply of treated water into lakes. During the visit, he examined the low-cost wastewater treatment technology called Vertical Flow Constructed Wetland, which can help in improving water quality through natural purification methods.

The commissioner decided to implement the technology initially as a pilot project at the Bhamrukhan-Ud-Daula Lake. The initiative focuses on lake restoration, water conservation, and adopting sustainable solutions for effective wastewater management.
