BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao ruled out any alliance with the BJP, saying the two parties are ideologically opposed. Speaking at the India Today Conclave South 2026 in Kochi, KTR said the BRS had never allied with the BJP and had contested the Telangana Assembly elections independently. He also demanded an independent judicial inquiry into the Election Commission’s functioning, called for transparency in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls and expressed concerns that population-based delimitation could affect the representation of southern states.
KTR also criticised the BJP and Congress over unemployment and alleged that issues such as the Uniform Civil Code and religious matters were being used to divert attention from youth concerns. He said the BRS had discussed the possibility of a non-aligned front with several regional leaders in the past and indicated that political equations could change before the 2029 Lok Sabha elections. On Telangana politics, KTR alleged growing dissatisfaction with the Congress government and said the BRS would make a strong comeback in the future.
