

NIMS Additional Medical Superintendent and Additional Professor Dr. Nori Lakshmi bhasker, who was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in a disproportionate assets case and is currently in custody, has been suspended. NIMS Director Dr. Rahul Devaraj issued the suspension orders. The ACB had arrested Lakshmi bhasker on the 22nd of last month after reportedly identifying cash and immovable assets worth more than ₹100 crore at his residence.
He was remanded to custody on the 26th, and the suspension orders were issued on the 28th. The NIMS Director said the action was taken under the Telangana Civil Services Act and Rule 8(2)(a) of the NIMS Act, 1989, which provide for the suspension of a government employee who remains in custody for more than 48 hours. The suspension will be effective from the date of his arrest, according to the orders.
