Dinesh Vijan Shares Key Update on Stree 3 Release

Rajkummar Rao and Dinesh Vijan attended FICCI Frames 2026 to promote their upcoming film Prahaar. During the event, Vijan opened up about the future of the Stree franchise and its horror-comedy universe. He said Amar Kaushik is an integral part of Stree and the entire franchise, adding that Kaushik is currently working on Mahavatar, based on the story of Lord Parashurama.

Vijan revealed that Kaushik will complete Mahavatar by June, after which Stree 3 is expected to go on floors towards the end of next year and arrive in cinemas in 2028. He also teased that the third instalment will surprise audiences, saying everything they have loved about the franchise will remain, while the beginning and ending of the film will be a complete revelation. He hinted that the movie could release around Independence Day or Christmas in 2028.
