A key development has emerged in the case involving woman biker Sia, who was allegedly hit by a car in Gurugram. Police have added an attempt-to-murder charge to the FIR after a video of the incident went viral on social media and Sia and her family questioned the police action. Senior police officer Sandeep Malik said the video clearly appeared to show that Kalyan deliberately hit Sia with his car. Based on the video, police added the attempt-to-murder section to the case.
According to reports, Sia and her friends were riding sports bikes on Golf Course Road in Gurugram when Kalyan allegedly followed her in a car and asked her to stop. Sia reportedly questioned why he was following her and asked him to keep the car away from her. After travelling some distance, Kalyan allegedly drove into Sia’s bike from behind at high speed, causing her to fall onto the road. The bike was dragged for some distance while sparks came from it, and the video quickly went viral. Gurugram Police registered a suo motu case and later met Sia’s family, who demanded the accused’s immediate arrest and questioned why an attempt-to-murder charge had not initially been included. Police have now added the section, while the circumstances and responsibility for the incident are still under investigation, as the versions given by Sia and Kalyan differ.
