Netflix Documentary on Trump’s Secret Plane Switch

Netflix has produced a documentary titled ‘Instadocs: The Decoy Plane’ based on the secret aircraft switch involving US President Donald Trump after the NATO summit in Türkiye. The documentary features firsthand accounts and interviews with Washington Post and Reuters journalists who were aboard Air Force One, along with Secret Service agents and flight crew members. It is set to stream from September 4.

Trump had travelled to Türkiye for the NATO summit aboard a new, advanced Air Force One aircraft gifted by Qatar. Intelligence officials reportedly raised security concerns about the aircraft because Türkiye is close to the Iranian border, prompting security personnel to devise a covert plan to move Trump to another aircraft. After Trump boarded Air Force One in front of cameras at Ankara airport, he was secretly transferred to a smaller military aircraft waiting on the runway with the help of an airport catering truck. He then flew safely to RAF Mildenhall in Britain aboard the military aircraft.
