Nepal’s Death Toll Continues to Rise

The death toll from devastating floods along the China-Nepal border has risen to 1,114 in Nepal, while 3,916 people remain missing, the disaster authority said on Wednesday. The figures were released a week after the disaster struck on August 26, highlighting the scale of the devastation.

Chinese state media reported that 16 people were killed and 546 remain missing in Tibet. With the figures from Nepal and Tibet combined, the disaster has claimed at least 1,130 lives, while 4,462 people are still missing. Rescue and relief operations are continuing as authorities assess the damage.
