A unique research initiative led by IIIT Hyderabad is working towards creating the ‘Bharat Taste Atlas’, a comprehensive map of India’s diverse culinary heritage. The project aims to document regional delicacies, traditional recipes, and local food cultures from across the country, preserving India’s rich gastronomic identity in a digital format.
The atlas will bring together information on signature dishes from different states, districts, and communities, creating a detailed culinary map of India. Beyond preserving food heritage, the initiative is expected to promote food tourism, support local cuisines, and showcase India’s incredible diversity of flavours to a global audience. The Bharat Taste Atlas could become a landmark project celebrating the nation’s culinary richness.
