Kishan Reddy Makes Key Announcement on Adilabad Airport Works

The Adilabad airport project is moving ahead rapidly, with plans to develop it as a Joint User Airfield (JUA), Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy said. He reviewed the project’s progress in New Delhi today in the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu. The project is expected to strengthen regional connectivity and civil aviation infrastructure in northern Telangana.

To implement the project in mission mode, it was decided to appoint one nodal officer each from the Defence Ministry, Civil Aviation Ministry and Telangana government by next week. The preparation of the Detailed Project Report (DPR) and Master Plan will also be expedited. The project includes a 2.75 kilometre runway, with 369.45 acres available with the IAF and another 1,500 acres to be acquired by the Telangana government. Facilities such as aircraft parking, hangars, training and maintenance infrastructure are planned, while the Airports Authority of India will establish a civil terminal and MRO facility.
