Exit polls for the Kerala Legislative Assembly Elections indicate a likely setback for the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) led by Pinarayi Vijayan. Most survey agencies suggest that voters may favor the United Democratic Front (UDF), led by the Indian National Congress, in this election. Pollsters also indicate a marginal possibility of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) opening its account in the state assembly.
Polling for 140 constituencies was held on April 9, with a direct contest between LDF and UDF. Kerala traditionally witnesses a change in government every five years, though LDF broke that trend in 2021 by returning to power. Recent local body election outcomes showed strong performance by UDF, which exit polls suggest could reflect in assembly results as well. Final results are scheduled to be announced on May 4. Most agencies project UDF securing a majority, while BJP+ may win a few seats.
