Houthis Claim to Have Shot Down Saudi Fighter Jet

Yemen’s Houthi group has claimed that it shot down a Saudi F-15 fighter jet over Marib province. According to the group’s military spokesman, the aircraft was brought down using a locally manufactured missile while it was conducting operations in the area. Houthi-affiliated media also released footage and images purportedly showing the jet being hit and its wreckage.

Saudi Arabia has not officially confirmed the reported loss of an F-15 fighter jet. The claim comes amid a sharp escalation in fighting between Saudi-backed forces and the Houthis in Yemen. The Houthis have reported missile and drone attacks against Saudi targets, while Saudi-led forces have continued airstrikes against Houthi positions in Yemen.
