Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar criticized the government over fund allocation for Bonalu festivities. After visiting the Ujjaini Mahakali Temple in Secunderabad, he questioned why ₹33 crore was allocated for Ramzan while only ₹20 crore was set aside for Bonalu. He noted that thousands of temples in the twin cities celebrate Bonalu, making the allocated funds insufficient.
He alleged that the Congress party shows neglect towards Hindu festivals and demanded that funds be allocated based on population. He also remarked that the previous BRS government had similarly neglected Bonalu funding. Bandi Sanjay urged the Hindu community to stay vigilant and raise their voice on the issue.
