The Telangana High Court has issued crucial directions regarding pending traffic challans, taking a serious view of alleged non-compliance with its earlier orders. The court served contempt notices to DGP C V Anand and former DGP Shivdhar Reddy, along with notices to Traffic Joint CP Joel Davis. The matter pertains to a petition alleging that authorities failed to follow the court’s January 20 directive, which clearly stated that vehicles should not be seized solely due to pending challans.
Hearing the petition, the High Court issued notices to the respondents and directed them to file their counters. The court also adjourned the next hearing to the 19th of next month. The development has drawn attention to the enforcement of traffic rules and adherence to judicial orders by law enforcement authorities.
