Tukaram Mundhe, Commissioner of Maharashtra's Food and Drug Administration (FDA), is receiving widespread appreciation for his work and commitment to public service. His strict action against food adulteration, unhygienic kitchens and unsafe food practices has drawn praise from prominent industrialist and RPG Enterprises Chairman Harsh Goenka. Goenka recently shared his experience of meeting Mundhe for the first time at an event in a post on X. He described the officer as the highlight of the event, noting that many people were eager to meet him. He also praised Mundhe for taking on powerful systems to protect public health, saying that officers who perform their duties with honesty and dedication become heroes in people's hearts.
Mundhe responded to Goenka's appreciation with humility, saying that public service is never the achievement of a single individual but a collective effort driven by courage and integrity. He noted that countless government employees across the country serve as examples through their work and described himself as just one among them. He added that many officials perform even better but rarely receive recognition. According to Mundhe, public trust and expectations are the greatest responsibilities of government employees. He stressed that honest and accountable service should become the norm rather than an exception.
