

Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said that a major step has been taken towards the development of North Telangana with the approval of the Adilabad Joint User Airfield project. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the state government has granted administrative approval of ₹2,278.14 crore for the project. A total of 2,009.23 acres of land will be acquired, including 1,609.23 acres for Indian Air Force requirements and 400 acres for civil aviation facilities, MRO, cargo terminal, hangars, and future expansion.
The minister stated that the airfield will boost industrial growth, investments, tourism, cargo transportation, and defence activities in North Telangana. The project is expected to create thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities for youth. Authorities have been directed to complete land acquisition, road diversions, power line shifting, and other infrastructure modification works by December 31, 2026.
