Governor Urges Faster MY Bharat and Red Cross Enrolment

Chairing a review meeting with Vice-Chancellors at Lok Bhavan in Hyderabad, Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla called for faster enrolment on the MY Bharat portal and the Indian Red Cross. He directed universities to appoint nodal officers and student ambassadors in every college, monitor daily progress and complete the state's registration targets within the prescribed timeline. The Governor described the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan as a key pillar in achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and stressed that universities have a crucial role in building a healthy and responsible youth population.

The Governor noted that Telangana has achieved 4.04 lakh registrations against a target of 14.90 lakh on the MY Bharat portal and over 91,000 online pledges under the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan against a target of 2.73 lakh. He also highlighted the rapid growth of the Telangana Red Cross, which has crossed 1.17 lakh members, and urged universities to enrol 16,000 additional Red Cross members by August 15 while expanding awareness campaigns, blood donation drives and disaster management initiatives.
