Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay attended a welfare programme in Perundurai, Erode district, on Tuesday, where his government sanctioned bank loans worth ₹1,110 crore to strengthen self-help groups (SHGs). During the programme, the Chief Minister distributed loan sanction documents to the beneficiaries. The initiative is aimed at supporting self-help groups and improving their access to financial assistance.
The event also witnessed several heartwarming moments between Vijay and the SHG members. The Chief Minister interacted warmly with the women, posed for photographs with them and spent time with the beneficiaries. An elderly woman placed her hand on Vijay’s shoulder while posing for a photograph, while some other members got his autograph on their identity cards. These interactions became a highlight of the welfare programme.
