Since the formation of Telangana, the state government has reportedly issued a total of 1,99,115 government orders (GOs), of which only 82,657 are available to the public. More than 1.16 lakh orders have reportedly not been uploaded to the government website, raising concerns over public access to important official information. With approximately 58.5% of the GOs unavailable online, questions are being raised about transparency and the accessibility of government decisions.
Allegations have also emerged that directions issued by the High Court to make government orders publicly accessible have not been fully implemented. Officials are facing criticism over their alleged inaction, even after a contempt petition was filed in connection with the matter. Making GOs available online would help citizens examine government decisions and policy measures more easily. However, an official clarification regarding the pending uploads and compliance with the court’s directions is awaited.
