Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Telangana in December to inaugurate or dedicate several major infrastructure and development projects, according to BJP sources. The official itinerary is expected to be finalised soon. One of the key projects is the railway manufacturing facility at Kazipet, which has long been sought by the region. The unit is expected to support the production of railway coaches, wagons and metro coaches, creating direct and indirect employment opportunities while opening new avenues for skill development and railway-related jobs for local youth.
The proposed visit also includes the Sammakka Saralamma Tribal University in Mulugu and the Khammam–Devarapalli access-controlled greenfield highway. The university is intended to expand higher education opportunities for tribal students, with a focus on tribal culture, traditions, local languages and forest resource management. The highway is expected to improve connectivity between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and facilitate the movement of agricultural produce and commercial goods. Modi may also lay the foundation stone for the development of Warangal’s Mamunoor Airport, which could improve air connectivity for Warangal, Hanamkonda and surrounding areas. Before the Prime Minister’s proposed visit, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to visit Telangana in the second week of November for BJP organisational meetings and other engagements. The dates and details of these visits remain subject to official confirmation.
