US President Donald Trump congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for becoming India's longest-serving elected Prime Minister. In a message posted on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump described Modi as a "great leader," a "good friend," and a "wise person." He also wished the Indian Prime Minister greater success in the years ahead.
Prime Minister Modi achieved the milestone by completing 4,399 days in office, surpassing the record previously held by India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. With this achievement, Modi has become the longest-serving elected Prime Minister in Indian history. Former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi remains third on the list, having served continuously for 4,077 days between January 1966 and March 1977.
