Did Government Assurances End Wangchuk's Fast?

Social activist Sonam Wangchuk has called off his 26-day hunger strike after the Central Government provided written assurances on addressing the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak issue and reviewing the country's examination system. In a video message, Wangchuk said the decision came only after two days of discussions with government representatives, during which key concerns related to examination transparency were acknowledged.

According to Wangchuk, the Centre assured that the issue of examination irregularities would be discussed in Parliament and that steps would be taken to strengthen the integrity of the examination process.
