DGP CV Anand Makes Key Statement on Nani’s Request

Telangana DGP C.V. Anand has responded to actor Nani’s request to attend the premiere of The Paradise at a theatre in Hyderabad’s RTC X Roads. With Ganesh idol immersion arrangements underway, the area is expected to witness heavy traffic and large crowds. Anand said the movement of immersion vehicles and devotees could significantly affect traffic in the area and stressed that permission from Hyderabad City Police would be essential for any programme at RTC X Roads.

Anand also referred to the stampede at Sandhya Theatre in RTC X Roads during the Pushpa 2 premiere in December 2024. A woman died in the incident, while her son was seriously injured. The incident led to greater focus on security and crowd-management arrangements at major events. Anand said a final decision on Nani’s request would be taken after consultations with Hyderabad City Police.
