The Central Government has announced a series of reforms to streamline the NEET UG counselling process. Under the revised system, candidates will be required to complete physical reporting only once during the counselling cycle. Those seeking seat upgrades can now complete document verification online and receive provisional admission without repeatedly visiting their allotted institutions.
The new process is expected to reduce travel, paperwork and delays for students participating in multiple counselling rounds. If a candidate secures a better seat in a later round, the previously allotted seat will automatically become available for another aspirant. Only candidates who choose to freeze their allotted seats will be required to report physically to their respective colleges.
