The Central Government is planning to relax vehicle registration rules by allowing vehicle owners to keep their vehicles in another state for up to three years without changing the existing registration. The proposed move aims to make vehicle ownership more convenient for people who frequently relocate for work, education, or other reasons.
At present, motor vehicle rules require a vehicle registered in one state to be re-registered if it remains in another state for more than one year. If implemented, the new proposal would extend this period to three years, reducing paperwork and making interstate vehicle movement easier.
