

CPI(M) senior leader and All India Kisan Sabha vice-president Sarampally Malla Reddy passed away early Monday at the age of 88. He had been admitted to NIMS Hospital in Hyderabad four days earlier after developing respiratory complications associated with age. His condition reportedly deteriorated around midnight on Sunday, and despite emergency medical treatment, he passed away at around 3:30 a.m. on Monday.
Malla Reddy is survived by his wife Bhagya Lakshmi, sons Vasudeva Reddy and Madhusudan Reddy, and daughter Sunita. His daughter Anitha had passed away recently due to health-related complications. His mortal remains were kept at the NIMS mortuary. CPI(M) Politburo member B.V. Raghavulu, Farmers’ Association general secretary T. Sagar, KVPS general secretary Skylab Babu and CPI(M) state committee member Baburao, among others, paid their last respects. Several leaders expressed deep grief over his demise, describing his death as an irreparable loss to people’s movements.
