Centre Holds Talks with Meta.. Key Decision on Child Sexual Abuse Cases

The Centre has held discussions with Meta on online child safety, with the company agreeing to report cases of child sexual abuse to law enforcement agencies. The government has made it clear that protecting children online is non-negotiable and that digital platforms must take proactive measures to identify and remove such content.

The government has also warned that strict action will be taken against platforms that fail to proactively detect and remove child sexual abuse material. The Centre’s latest stance underlines the responsibility of social media and digital platforms to ensure a safer online environment for children and to promptly report such cases to the appropriate authorities.
