Bhogapuram Airport Set for August 1 Inauguration

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Bhogapuram International Airport in Andhra Pradesh on August 1, marking a major milestone for aviation infrastructure in North Andhra. Developed across 2,203 acres at a cost of ₹4,592 crore, the airport includes a 3,800-metre Code-E runway capable of handling wide-body aircraft, a cargo terminal, advanced air traffic control systems, solar power facilities, and a zero-liquid-discharge system.

The airport has been designed to handle 6 million passengers annually in its first phase, with long-term plans to expand capacity to 40 million passengers a year. Officials believe the new airport will significantly improve regional connectivity while boosting tourism, trade, logistics, and investment, creating fresh economic opportunities across North Andhra Pradesh.
