Bandi Sanjay criticized the state government for its inaction as unseasonal rains and strong winds damaged paddy crops across several regions. Speaking in Karimnagar, he said farmers are facing severe difficulties due to the lack of proper procurement at purchase centers. He expressed concern that farmers’ hard work is being washed away due to government negligence.
He questioned why the state government is failing to act when the central government is providing funds for every grain procured. He pointed out that transportation and other expenses are also covered by the Centre. Despite this, the slow pace of procurement is unacceptable. He demanded immediate procurement of even wet paddy at the minimum support price and urged the government to provide relief to affected farmers.
