Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Visits Flood-Hit Nepalikhuti

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the flood-affected Nepalikhuti village in Sivasagar district after heavy rains caused severe flooding in the region. Large parts of the village were submerged under deep floodwaters on August 2, leaving extensive damage to homes, infrastructure, and public property. After inspecting the affected areas, the Chief Minister described the scale of destruction as "beyond imagination," saying the actual situation was far worse than what had been seen on television.

Addressing the affected residents, Sarma assured them that the Assam government would extend every possible assistance for relief and rehabilitation. He said the government would work to rebuild the village and provide all necessary support to help people recover from the disaster. The administration has also intensified rescue, relief, and restoration efforts in the flood-hit region.
