APK File Scam in the Name of RTA Challan

Cyber fraud case has targeted an ASI working at Panjagutta Police Station in the city. The victim, Narasayya, received an APK file sent by cyber criminals under the guise of an RTA challan. After installing it, ₹49,139 was allegedly withdrawn from his bank account.

On June 8, the officer noticed repeated messages on his mobile phone and later discovered unauthorized deductions from his account. Realizing the fraud, he immediately contacted the cyber helpline number 1930. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
