AP Green Executive Committee Chairman Nagababu Visits Guchimi Elephant Conservation Centre

Andhra Pradesh Green Executive Committee Chairman Shri Nagababu visited the Guchimi Elephant Conservation Centre in Seethanagaram mandal of Parvathipuram Manyam district. During the visit, he planted peepal and neem saplings in the Guchimi Reserve Forest and directed officials to undertake extensive plantation drives in vacant areas of forest land. He stressed the importance of increasing green cover and protecting the forest ecosystem.

Nagababu also reviewed the development works at the elephant conservation centre and interacted with elephant trackers to understand how the movement of wild elephants is being monitored. Forest officials explained the preventive measures being taken to reduce human–wildlife conflicts. He later met the mahouts and veterinary doctor caring for the kumki elephants Jayanth and Abhimanyu, enquired about their health and diet, and fed them ragi, sweet corn, sugarcane and jaggery.
