AI Powered Dial 112 Launched

The Telangana Police has launched the next generation AI powered Dial 112 emergency response platform to provide faster and smarter emergency services across the state. Director General of Police C.V. Anand inaugurated the system and announced that drones would soon be deployed as "Aerial First Responders" during emergencies. Police, fire, ambulance, women's safety, disaster management, and electricity emergency services have now been integrated under the single national emergency number 112.

The upgraded platform features AI based call filtering, automatic call routing, voice to text conversion, and accurate location tracking. Officials said the system receives nearly 1.4 million calls daily, and AI will automatically filter spam, silent, and non emergency calls, allowing genuine emergency calls to be handled more efficiently. The platform can currently identify callers' locations with nearly 94% accuracy, significantly improving response times.

During a live demonstration, the DGP observed a drone being dispatched immediately after a road accident was reported in Banjara Hills. The drone transmitted real time visuals to the control room and local police even before officers reached the scene, enabling quicker decision making. The department has digitally integrated 1,860 police patrol vehicles across the state and will initially deploy aerial response drones in Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Malkajgiri, and Future City Commissionerates as part of a pilot project.
