Tevolde Gebremariam has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Air India, which is owned by the Tata Group. Tata Sons, the parent company of the Tata Group, announced the appointment, highlighting Gebremariam’s extensive experience in the aviation sector.
Gebremariam, the former CEO of Ethiopian Airlines Group, played a key role in expanding the airline and improving its profitability during his tenure. The Tata Group expressed confidence that his leadership will help Air India achieve further growth and development. The airline has not yet announced the date on which he will officially assume charge. He succeeds Campbell Wilson, who announced his resignation as CEO in April.
