India and New Zealand have signed a Free Trade Agreement after nearly a decade of discussions between the two countries. Officials from both nations formally signed the pact on Monday in the presence of Indian Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal and New Zealand Trade Minister Todd McClay.
The agreement is expected to boost business opportunities and simplify trade regulations between the two countries. It will play a major role across 20 key sectors, including agriculture, food processing, digital technology, AI, quantum computing, and clean energy. New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon described it as a once in a generation agreement.
