BMW India Signals Another Price Hike

BMW India Signals Another Price Hike

BMW India is preparing for another increase in vehicle prices, with the luxury carmaker citing the weakening Indian rupee against the US dollar and rising commodity prices as key reasons. BMW India President and CEO Hardeep Singh Brar indicated that the company may revise prices again next month. The comments came after the company launched the new BMW 7 Series models in the Indian market. The proposed increase follows three price hikes implemented by BMW India so far this year, cumulatively taking vehicle price increases to as much as 5%.

Brar said the continuing pressure from currency fluctuations and higher commodity costs could make another price revision unavoidable. The development comes amid broader cost pressures faced by automobile manufacturers, particularly those with significant exposure to imported components and global input prices. BMW India is expected to announce the revised prices in the coming weeks, while the new 7 Series models are set to strengthen the company’s luxury portfolio in the Indian market.
