India’s exports of electronic products and devices are witnessing rapid growth. Union Minister for IT and Electronics Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that the value of these exports crossed ₹4 lakh crore last year. Notably, iPhone exports alone accounted for nearly ₹2.03 lakh crore, which is almost double compared to 2024.
In 2024, India manufactured electronic goods worth ₹11.3 lakh crore, of which products valued at ₹3.3 lakh crore were exported overseas. The minister also noted that the electronics sector currently employs more than 25 lakh people across the country.
Industry experts expect mobile phone manufacturing and exports to rise further by the end of the current financial year. According to the India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA), production value is projected to reach at least $75 billion (approximately ₹6.76 lakh crore), while exports could touch $30 billion (around ₹2.7 lakh crore). Additionally, four semiconductor manufacturing units are expected to begin production in India this year. These developments are likely to further strengthen the country’s electronics and mobile phone export growth.
